Hair & Skin care Tips for a Safe Holi

Holi is a festival of colors which brings out the child in us. Everybody wants to enjoy and in festive mood. We can see beautiful and vibrant colors everywhere which might contain some harsh chemicals so it is very much required to play safe holi, it is best to play holi with herbal organic colors that can be made at home also. But if not possible then it is better to take some safety measures which keep your skin, eyes and hair safe from the harmful effects of the Holi colors. Skincare tips for Holi

  • Mix 1 tablespoon of each coconut oil, castor oil and olive oil and apply this oil mixture all over your skin before playing Holi. Do not put any kind if makeup while playing Holi with colors.
  • Apply generous amount of moisturizer with sunscreen all over your body, especially behind your ears and ear lobes to protect your skin from harmful chemicals.
  • Paint your nails bright and well trimmed this will help you keep your nails and the cuticles safe from the harsh colors and the chemicals. Do not forget to moisturize your hands before going to play Holi.
  • Always apply lip-balm or a lipstick to protect your lips from harmful chemicals and moisturized at the same time.
  • Do not use chemical based soap to remove holi colors, use glycerin or aloe vera based soaps to remove color.

Hair care tips to Follow for Holi

  • Apply sufficient amount of warm olive or coconut oil on your scalp and roots. It is good to apply and leave it overnight before going out to play. Give your scalp a gentle massage before you sleep and repeat the process in the morning.
  • It is good to keep your head cover, you can wear head cap but never leave your hair open. Tie it into a ponytail or a bun and cover your head with a scarf.

  • Alter playing Holi we all want to get rid from colors as soon as possible. To remove holi colors do not use chemical based soap instead use cream-based cleanser or homemade face packs to remove colors. Apply a lot of moisturizing cream to keep the skin hydrated. If you spot redness or scratchiness, go to a skin doctor immediately.
  • How to remove color from hair: First wash your hair with lukewarm water to remove excess of color Use any mild shampoo without using shampoo at first. Once done, then wash them with a mild shampoo and conditioner.
  • Mix equal quality of olive oil, castor oil, glycerin, vinegar, coconut oil, conditioner and your regular shampoo. Apply the mixture on your hair and the scalp, leave for an hour and then rinse it of with warm water to get clean and shiny hair again.
