Home Remedies to Cure Dandruff

We all know that there is no hair condition as embarrassing as dandruff and once you get infected with this condition, it means it time to say bye to your dark colored clothes and it is really tuff to get rid of dandruff.But it is not really so difficult here are some better way to cure dandruff in a natural way with the help of simple kitchen ingredients. Read on to know some easy home remedies that can help you get rid of those pesky flakes.


Baking Soda

Every kitchen has baking soda but would you have ever imagined that baking soda is one of the potential home remedies to cure dandruff? It clarifies the scalp by clearing off the flakes. Mix one teaspoon of baking soda to your shampoo and wash your hair twice a week with this new concoction and you will notice major improvement in your hair condition after 4 to 5 weeks.  

Lemon
Lemon juice is a natural bleaching agent because of the presence of citric acid in it. But it also has anti-fungal properties that help in getting rid of the dandruff.  Mix coconut oil to lemon juice and smear off the mask on your scalp for 20-30 minutes and wash it off later by using a mild shampoo. Repeat this process once a week and within a month your dandruff will be washed out completely.  

Olive Oil
Olive oil has many health benefits but it can be used in treating dandruff. Olive oil is a natural moisturizer so it will moisturize your dry scalp deeply which is the main cause of dandruff. Massage your scalp gently with warm olive oil. Keep it overnight and cleanse it with a mild shampoo the following morning to get rid of dandruff.

Vinegar
Vinegar is also a natural remedy to cure dandruff but does not use chemically prepare one. Always choose one made from natural ingredients such as apple cider or balsamic vinegar. Vinegar is very helpful in treating itchy dandruff because of its active potassium enzymes that help in curbing the itching sensation of the scalp. Give a gentle massage to your scalp or by putting it into your last mug of water while washing your hair.

Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera gel has antibacterial and antifungal properties so it can be used in treating scaly skin in people with ‘seborrheic dermatitis’, a skin condition that can create dandruff. Apply the gel obtained from the plant directly onto your scalp and wash it off after 15 to 20 minutes.

Aspirin
Yes you can get rid of dandruff by using aspirin tablets. Crush two aspirin tablets into a fine powder and add it to the normal amount of shampoo you use each time to wash your hair. Leave the mixture on your hair for few minutes before you wash it off with normal water. Wash your hair again with the normal shampoo.

Yogurt
Yogurt is the most used home remedy to cure dandruff. Mix a cup of curd and 2 tablespoon black pepper powder and apply it all over your scalp. Leave it for about an hour and rinse off. Yogurt will act like a soothing agent and also prevents aggravation of scaling on the scalp on the other hand black pepper has anti-fungal properties.  

Fenugreek
Fenugreek popularly known as ‘methi’ is easily available in kitchen. It not onl enhance the taste and aroma of your dishes but also has scalp-soothing and anti-fungal properties. It will also soften your hair along with helping you get rid of dandruff. Soak fenugreek seeds in water overnight and grind to a fine paste. Apply the paste to your scalp for 30-45 minutes and wash it off with a mild shampoo.

Gram Flour
Gram flour or besan is a natural cleansing agent which removes the dirt from scalp and effective in curing dandruff. Apply gram flour mixed with curd on your scalp for 20 minutes and wash it off with a mild shampoo.

Apple
Apple is an effective home remedy to cure dandruff as an enzyme called ‘phenolase’ present in apple will eliminates accumulation of dead skin thereby curing dandruff in the process.  Mix freshly squeezed apple juice with an equal amount of water and applies this mixture onto your scalp. Leave it for about 10 minutes before washing it off with a shampoo.  

All these home remedies are worth to use but none of these cures are miracle cures, you have to keep patience to see the results. Use these home remedies on a regular basis or as mentioned to get desired results.
