- The best deal to with tantrums is just to ignore it whenever possible though it is hard to do but many studies show that paying any attention whether negative or positive results in an increase in that behavior. So it is good not to pay any attention or even a comment on what they're doing. When your kid comes out from his or her tantrums then you can talk.
- Do not be straight forward with them or put your rules and regulation on them. Give them control over little things by giving those minor choices like "Do you want to play before or after completing homework?" instead if you asked them to do their homework now you will get straightforward no. Give them some space to express themselves and regain self-control.
- Distract them; yes kids have very short attention so take advantage of this only. For example you are going into market and you know that your kid will demand each and everything he saw in the market then the best way to take his or favorite toys, books or sweets with you so that you can create a diversion and keep your kids engaged and interested in something else so he forgets about the meltdown he was just having.
- Try to find out what really frustrating your kid. Sometimes your kid wants to say something but we do not understand which make them frustrated and they show temper tantrums. To get overcome from this situation it is better to teach them some common words or signs which help them to convey their message effectively. You can also display some pictures like a cartoon eating food or drinking water, watching television or cartoon so that if they cannot speak then they can point out their favorite activity. Try to learn your kid body language which is the best way to understand them
- When you child show temper tantrums in public then just a tight hug can make your kid feel secure and they came to know that you care about them. It is always said that a gesture can say more than the words.
- Usually kids frustrated most when they are hungry or feeling tired. If your child also have tendency to show temper tantrums over these two reasons then it is better to fix their eating and sleeping time. Try to give them food on time preferably vegetarian food will be good to control tantrums similarly let them sleep or take a short nap when they feel tired.
- Reward them for their good behavior and controlling their feelings. It is not necessary that you offer them any gift only a word of appreciation will encourage them to keep their behavior for long.
- Keep your calm remember they are kids so it’s not good to argue with the child. Stay calm and speak with them politely. Try to make them comfortable first and then start your conversation. Try to teach them that there are many other better ways through which they can convey their message.
